No-Cost use for Advocates, Researchers, and Students

Each year, the Conveyal team offers a limited number of subscriptions through our No-Cost use for Advocates, Researchers, and Students (NoCARS) program. Awardees are selected based on the novelty of their proposed research questions and data sources, as well as potential impact.

To apply, email support@conveyal.com a short abstract (including your research question, the scenarios you intend to test, and links to GTFS feed(s) representing your baseline transit network). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with selections announced at the end of March, June, September, and December of each year based on interest and availability. Awardees receive a one-year subscription, which includes automatically scaling regional analysis capabilities and unlimited modifications through Conveyal's built-in scenario editor. They also receive technical support from the Conveyal team, are asked to share resulting reports, papers, and source code, and have opportunities to publish guest posts on the Conveyal blog. Alternative options include running our open-source software locally, which facilitates maximum customization, and using public support channels (e.g. Conveyal user manual, Conveyal GitHub).

Past awardees include:
